Rhode Island staff player Danie Van Tonder is in the mix at the Joburg Open after shooting a 66 in the opening round.
The young star opened up with a birdie-eagle start on the slightly easier West course before making the turn in four under 32. He dropped one of two shots on the back nine as well as recording three more birdies to sign for a six under 66 and is currently one shot off the pace.
