This week sees the playing of the Africa open being the second European Tour co-sanctioned tournament on the trot. Teboho Sefatsa and a number of other Rhode Island players are preparing for the event which starts on Thursday at East London Golf Club.
Sefatsa will be looking to start his year well after having had a slightly disappointing 2013, this serves up a great opportunity with the prize money being a healthy €1 000 000 and the winner taking home more than €150 000. Players are determined to capitalize on the co-sanctioned events in order to bump them up the Order of Merit as during the winter months the prize money drops substantially.
Other Rhode island Players in action this week are Danie Van Tonder, who is fresh off a Top 10 performance at last week’s Joburg open. Louis De Jager will also be teeing it up at East London, he finished in a tie for 31st last week.
Desvonde Botes, Jacques Blaauw, PH McIntyre, Lindani Ndwandwe, Shaun Norris, Attie Schwartzel, Theunis Spangenberg, Grant Veenstra & Mark Williams make up the balance of Rhode Island players.
Good luck to them all this week and the team at Rhode Island will be following their progress, follow us on Twitter & Facebook to keep track of how our players are performing.
