Rhode Island brand ambassador Louis de Jager is in the field this week for the M2M Russian Open after having secured an invite and is itching to get started.
The 27 year old has had a solid season the 2014 Sunshine Tour carding five Top 25’s and only missing 3 cuts in his 14 starts so far. His earnings of just over R340 000 puts him 35th on the Order of Merit and he’ll be looking to post a good finish at the M2M Russian Open. in 2013 De Jager had a solid finish at the Tshwane Open at the Els Club Copperleaf finishing 3rd and taking home over R1 million for his efforts.
As most of us know these opportunities for players are sometimes few and far between and a victory can potentially change one’s life not only from an earnings perspective, but also that of securing an exemption for the remainder of the season as well as the following season. The Sunshine Tour is seen as a proving ground prior to making a move to one of the bigger tours in the world and we wish Louis well for the forthcoming week and look forward to seeing him don the Rhode Island brand in great style.
