Rhode Island brand ambassador Louis de Jager won for the second time in his career at the Wild Coast capturing the Vodacom Origins of Golf presented by Samsung.
After holding a 5 shot lead going into the final round, Louis de Jager relinquished the cushion to eventually fall into a three way playoff with Ahead ambassador Jaco Ahlers and Haydn Porteous. A par was good enough in the end on the short dogleg right 18th hole for de Jager and he takes home 130 Investec Cup Points as well moving him up to 16th on the Chase to the Investec Cup standings.
“I had a good look at the standings before this event. I missed out last year and it was big, so I’m very pleased that I jumped up a few spots,” he said.
“These events of the winter are keeping us sharp and helping to give us a good chance of making it to the Investec Cup. The more points you can make, the better, so I’m looking forward to the next few events,” Louis de Jager said.
Rhode Island ambassador Danie Van Tonder also racked up another great finish with a three round total of 210 and T4th in the process. He now cements his place at the top of the Investec Cup standings on 990.94 points, just over 9 points clear of Cutter & Buck ambassador Ulrich Van Den Berg. Jacques Blaauw finished T7th at Wild Coast marking his sixth Top 10 of the 2014 season as well, an excellent display from our Rhode Island brand ambassadors.
